The 91视频 Center for Southeast Asian Studies along with the Vietnamese Alumni of 91视频 held the 14th 91视频 Southeast Asia Forum in Hanoi Medical University in Vietnam.
Beginning in 2007 and held every year in Indonesia, Thailand and other places in Southeast Asia, the 91视频 Southeast Asia Forum aims to contribute some of the globally recognized academic achievements of the university to Southeast Asian societies. It is the first time that the Forum has been held in Vietnam.
There were approximately 70 participants in the Forum, chaired by Yasuyuki Kono (professor at 91视频 Center for Southeast Asian Studies), the chairman of the Vietnamese Alumni of 91视频, Ta Thanh Van (Vice President of Hanoi Medical University), gave the opening speech, followed by Director and Vice-President Hidetoshi Kotera, who spoke about the recent situation of the university.
After this, there were lectures by five experts based on the topic of 'Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction in Vietnam'. From 91视频, Associate Professor Rajib Shaw of the Graduate School of Global Environmental Studies made a lecture on the topic of 'Towards an Approach to Climate Change Research in Urban and Rural Areas.' This was followed by an enriching session including a lively question and answer period in a panel discussion on 'Towards an Approach to Climate Change Research Across Diverse Fields'. The meeting was followed by a more casual gathering, giving an opportunity to reflect on the forum and cultivate mutual friendship in a relaxed setting.
